Exploring Minecraft’s New Adventure: Soul Steel

Okay, so I’ve actually wanted to dive into this for so long. Minecraft has released a new game, or at least I think it’s a new game, called Soul Steel. I’m going to dive straight into it, and while it loads. It’s apparently an online interactive server. Oh my gosh, there’s a lot to download. To be fair, I did join as soon as I saw it. I haven’t gone further than the introduction, but we’ll see what it’s like, I guess. We start by immediately diving into a story: “When you heard the town cry speak Port Fortuna, you immediately bought a ticket on the next airship, the home of this…” The story continues, but essentially, you wake up to find your airship destroyed, your luggage gone, and fire raging around you. Okay, this is interesting. It looks like I’ve lost my skin, but more importantly, it seems we’ve crashed. Unfortunately, our airship has crashed into a ditch. It looks like we have some new players with us who are learning as well. Wow, look at this! It has its own custom animation. I know I’m not my actual skin at the moment—I’m a Steve—but that’s still really cool. It says to find a way out of the crash site, so I guess we’re going to figure that out. This seems like a little tutorial to help us learn what to do. There are health potions, and I notice at the bottom of the screen, our health bar is different. There’s a different design, and there’s also a blue bar which I’ll figure out later. Whoa, look at these! I like the fighting mechanics; they’re really fun. Enemies spawn in different spots, which is a nice touch. I already like this. I’m not going to stay behind because I feel like they’ll keep spawning, so let’s head this way. It looks like we’ve found our way out, and we need to talk to a stranger. Of course, we don’t hit him—huzzah! Another survivor. He mentions he’s working on a way out of here but asks if we’d be interested in helping with a few odd jobs. Sure! I figure if we want to escape this place, we just walk up to him, right? He asks us to go into a ruined temple to collect some treasure for another airship. Behind him, there’s a large magical portal with a burning lantern called the Chrono Keeper. It powers the portal, allowing entry into the dungeon. To access the dungeon, you need to collect a pile of coins quickly because the flame on the Chrono Keeper runs low. Every click on him hits him; attacking or placing a block does the same. We jump into the portal, which I think is the fire-looking thing. Now, we’re in a timed challenge: 30 seconds to gather as much gold as possible before exiting. The countdown starts, so I rush in, trying to collect gold. Oh my gosh, this is terrible—you have to run into the portal quickly. I get 8, 7, 6, 5 seconds left and manage to make it just in time. That was terrible—I rank E. We need to do better. We go back to the portal to try again. This time, everything spawns and we attempt to improve our gold collection. We find a silver key inside a chest, which should unlock other chests in the dungeon. We now have 60 seconds to gather more treasure. We spot the key, grab it, and head back to the portal. The challenge is intense, but we manage to get some gold before time runs out. Our rank remains E, but we try again, exploring a bit more thoroughly to gather more treasure. We encounter tougher enemies, which hit hard, and realize that exploring the zones thoroughly in such a short time is challenging. We try for better results, recognizing that the more we play, the better we’ll get at collecting gold and surviving. Throughout the exploration, we notice that you can customize your campsite with various decorations and buy cosmetics. The game’s shop seems to have expensive items, balancing gameplay with monetization. We also find portals to different realms, like the old kingdom, which seems to be an area for fast travel. We travel to the old kingdom, which appears to teleport us instantly. The NPC there seems to have the ability to teleport, as she arrives before us and comments on the situation. She provides hints about engaging with the dungeon, but we need to find the entrance, which is near the key area. We head into the dungeon, fighting off enemies, and realize the zones are huge and filled with treasure and challenges. We attempt to explore deeper, trying to find the chest and the key again. The challenges become more intense with stronger enemies, and managing time is crucial. We notice that killing enemies and exploring thoroughly increases our rewards, but the difficulty spikes. Finally, we gather the treasure, rescue the key, and leave the dungeon. Our rank still stays at E despite our efforts. We finish by acknowledging that there’s much more to explore and learn about the game. That’s about it for today’s video.
