What Is Allowed:
Occasionally, a player may unintentionally use profanity in their language without causing any harm. However, as long as this language is not directed at any other players and is not consistently used, this behavior is permitted within MakerSpace. Please note that if the swear word that a player uses is a highly sensitive word which targets a group of individuals. Individuals should be warned and informed that discriminatory language is not allowed. For instance, consider the following example:
Darren accidentally deletes his work and exclaims, “Oh {profanity word}! I just deleted my work… oh sorry everyone, I was able to recover it.”
Stacy is engaged in a conversation with another player and accidentally utters a word to express her frustration about a topic that is not directed at anyone else. For example, she might say, “The other day, I {profanity word}ing tripped over a rock.”
What Is NOT Allowed
Sexist, racist, discriminatory, or harassing language, behaviour, or content is not welcome inside MakerSpace and should be highly focused on within events.
Darren is angry and is consistently shouting at another player for talking too much. Darren is also using malicious words which may be offensive and upset the other player. This is not allowed.
