Introduction

Welcome back, Minecraft enthusiasts! I’m thrilled to dive into another fascinating feature in the new Minecraft Java Edition 1.20 update. Previously, I showed you how to access super secret paintings, and today, I’ll guide you through the steps to obtain and use the mysterious light blocks. These hidden gems are not just convenient but also incredibly efficient for builders who want to add illuminating touches to their creations.

Why Light Blocks Are Game-Changing

Light blocks in Minecraft function as invisible sources of light, making them perfect for subtle illumination in your builds. They were quite tricky to obtain before, but now, with the recent update, things couldn’t be simpler. The introduction of the operators utilities tab has made it incredibly easy to access these blocks, drastically cutting down the time it takes to bring your lighting ideas to life.

How to Access Light Blocks

First things first, let’s go over how you can access these cool blocks. To start:

  1. Pause your game by pressing Escape.
  2. Head over to Options.
  3. Navigate to Controls.
  4. Ensure the Operators Items Tab is activated.

Once you’ve turned on this setting, you’ll notice a new tab in your creative menu. All available light blocks will appear there, ready for you to use.

Utilizing Light Blocks

Now that you know how to get the light blocks, let’s talk about using them effectively:

  • Place them in dark corners or behind objects to create hidden lighting effects.
  • You can experiment by placing different levels of light blocks, which may adjust the brightness in your setting.
  • Feel free to replace standard light sources with these blocks for a more polished and professional look to your designs.

The beauty of these blocks lies in their ability to control lighting without cluttering the aesthetic of your build.

Pro Tips

While testing different light blocks, I discovered you could actually change the lighting effects for each kind, giving you a broad palette of options. However, it’s worth noting that while some light blocks may seem brighter, others might not make a significant difference, so it’s essential to experiment with various combinations to find what works best for you.

Conclusion

Video Transcript

In my last video, I showed you how to get all of these super secret paintings in Minecraft Java Edition. Today, I’m going to show you how to get the super secret light block in the new 1.20 update of Minecraft Java Edition. This is such a cool addition because, before, it took a long time to actually obtain the light block. Now, with the super simple Operators Utilities tab that you can enable, you can easily get all of the light blocks whenever you want, which is fantastic. One really cool thing about light blocks is that you can see them illuminating everything behind me in this video. Technically, I don’t even need that light there, but they are incredibly useful if you’re a builder. So how do you get them? First of all, you want to hit Escape since you’re playing on Java Edition. Then, click on Options, then Controls, and make sure that the Operators Items tab is turned on. Once you do this, if we head back to our Creative tab, you’ll notice that this tab will pop up for you. It was already available for me because I had it enabled, but now you’ll have access to all these different lights. I’m not sure what happens if you place a zero… oh, okay, nothing happens. But they are super useful! You can see that I can replace light bulbs as well. I think… oh, actually, I can! Wow, that’s super cool! You can actually change the lighting effects for each light bulb. Wow, that is so cool, and they actually get brighter. I think… maybe not. Well, it’s incredibly useful! If you found this video helpful, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe. I can’t wait to see you in the next video. See ya!
