How to Get and Use Light Blocks in Bedrock Minecraft

Welcome to an exciting journey into the world of Minecraft Bedrock Edition, where creative possibilities are virtually limitless! In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of obtaining and utilizing light blocks in Minecraft Bedrock. Mastering the use of light blocks can significantly enhance your gaming experience, allowing you to illuminate spaces without relying on traditional light sources like torches. Let’s dive in!

What Are Light Blocks?

Light blocks are magical, invisible blocks in Minecraft that emit light, requiring no torches or lanterns. These blocks are incredibly versatile and can be used to add a luminous effect to your structures. Whether you’re exploring temples or building intricate designs, light blocks offer an unobtrusive way to light your creations.

Where to Find Light Blocks

Unlike traditional blocks, you won’t find light blocks lying around or naturally occurring in the game. To acquire them, you need to use a specific command within the game. This command is somewhat similar between Minecraft Bedrock and Java editions, but there are minor differences to keep in mind.

Step-by-Step Guide to Acquiring Light Blocks

Here’s a simple guide to help you obtain these amazing blocks in Bedrock Minecraft:

  1. Open your game and access the command interface.
  2. Input the following command: /give @s light_block 1 0.
  3. Press enter, and you will receive a light block with a score of zero.

It’s as easy as that! Now you have a powerful tool at your fingertips.

Using Light Blocks Effectively

Once you have your light blocks, the real fun begins! Here’s how to make the most out of them:

  1. Place the light block where you want to illuminate. The block itself won’t be visible but its effect will be.
  2. To adjust the brightness, add more light blocks to increase the area illuminated. This can create vibrant spaces even in the darkest of dungeons.
  3. If you move away, the blocks essentially become invisible, akin to barrier blocks, but the light remains, offering an efficient lighting solution.

By using light blocks creatively, you can transform any dark, dreary environment into a bright and welcoming area.

Benefits of Using Light Blocks

There are many advantages to using light blocks in your Minecraft Bedrock projects:

  • Discreet Lighting Solutions: With light blocks, you can maintain the aesthetics of your design without overt light sources.
  • Cost-effective: No need for endless torches, saving you resources for other projects.
  • Enhanced Creativity: Unlimited potential for creative designs with controlled light exposure.

Conclusion

So, there you have it! Light blocks in Minecraft Bedrock Edition open up exciting possibilities for advanced lighting techniques without any clutter. By following the step-by-step approach outlined in this guide, you can easily light up your Minecraft world in stylish, resource-efficient ways.

If you found this guide helpful, consider experimenting with light blocks in your future builds. Happy crafting, and remember, your creativity is the only limit!

Video Transcript

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap, and welcome back to another video. Today, I’m going to show you how to get and use a light block in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. As you can see, I’m currently in a temple. You’ll notice that if I go down here and block this off, there are lights here without any torches. Sorry, let me break that pressure plate. There are lights here without any torches, and that is because I am using a light block. If I break these two blocks, you can’t see anything, but if I actually place the light block and gradually add to it, I can make this whole area much brighter. Now you can see, I can finally see inside the temple. So, how do you get it? Well, the command you use in Bedrock is kind of similar to Java Edition, but it is slightly different. What you want to do is type /give, then @s (which is yourself, or you can use your name), and then simply type light. Once you do this and hit enter, you’ll be given a light block with a brightness score of zero. See, once I place them down, I can place as many as I like. They behave similarly to a barrier block; as soon as I move the light block away, they all disappear. This feature is super useful! If you found this video helpful, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe. I can’t wait to see you in the next video. See you!
