Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap, and welcome back to another video. Today, I am going to show you how to install Fabric. If you don’t know what Fabric is, it is basically a mod loader that allows you to use a whole bunch of Fabric mods. I personally use it in a lot of my videos, especially for the Replay Mod and Sodium, which helps improve performance in Minecraft. I have discussed performance and frame rates in another video where I talk about Sodium and Fabric. I will link that in the description if you want to check it out. Now, if you are younger, make sure you have a parent to help you through this process, just in case you download the wrong thing. I will leave the link in the description as well. First, you want to open your web browser, whether it’s Google, Firefox, Chrome, or whatever you prefer, and simply type in fabricmc.net. This is where the Fabric website is, so make sure that is the correct one. Before doing anything else, instead of clicking the “Download Here” button, go up to the top download section. I will show you how to download it for Windows; it should be straightforward for Mac as well, using the same method. However, if you are using a different specific launcher, you can refer to the other options available. I personally only use the Minecraft launcher. So, I will simply hit “Download for Windows,” and you will see it will pop up here. Next, double-click on this file. Since I’ve already installed this, it will open an installation window, but let’s see what it does. Okay, so once you install it—it’s already installed on my system—this little tab will pop up. This is where you install your versions. If I want to install Fabric for version 1.19.3, I will select 1.19.3. You can also select any other version down to 1.14. I’ll go ahead and select this and click “Install” or “Create Profile.” So, I’ll click that right now and hit “Yes.” Now that we’ve done this, we will open up the Minecraft launcher, and hopefully, Fabric 1.19.3 will be there. Next, I’m going to show you another step because you need this mod for most mods to work. As you can see, you will need the Fabric API for most mods. So, we are going to click on this link, which is on the same website where we downloaded Fabric. It should take us to CurseForge for the Fabric API. I will leave this link in the description as well to ensure you are going to the right place. Now, I will simply hit “Download.” It will do its little download process and start downloading. I’m going to keep this tab open and close the other one. Next, you want to locate your Minecraft folder. This is as simple as opening up your Minecraft and going into the folder. I usually have it on my desktop, but you can find it by going to %appdata% and then clicking on .minecraft. Alternatively, you can type this in, but remember to change the username to whatever username you use on your computer. After navigating to this folder, you will see that Fabric has been added to your Minecraft along with the mods tab. Now, we simply want to open this and drag your Fabric API mod into this folder. That’s all you need to do. I have my mods displayed right here, including Fabric API, Iris Shaders, Lithium, and others that I frequently use to enhance my videos. That about wraps it up! If you enjoyed the video, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe. I can’t wait to see you in the next video. See ya!
