Everybody, it’s UnderMyCap, and today I’m going to show you how to turn this into this. This is really cool; it makes Minecraft so much smoother, and it works really well. Prior to making this video, I tested every single version: vanilla, OptiFine, and Fabric, to see which frame rates performed the best. As you can see, I did a benchmarking test, and I noticed that Fabric and OptiFine obviously outperformed vanilla because of the shaders, resulting in a much higher frame rate. However, I did observe a significant decrease in performance when playing on servers such as Hypixel with both vanilla and OptiFine. Fabric, on the other hand, has optimizations with Sodium, which enhances performance if you are on Bedrock. I’m really sorry, but this is a Java video; this is how you optimize it. You can turn off all your fancy graphics and lower the render distance to ensure that you have more frames. With all the tests completed, it is clear that Fabric is currently the best option if you want to achieve higher frame rates on your computer. You can obviously use OptiFine, but in this video, I’m going to show you how to install and set up Fabric with Iris shaders. First, I’m going to explain how Fabric works. Essentially, Fabric is just another installer you can add to Minecraft. As you can see, it slips straight into the launcher, similar to where OptiFine is located if you have used it before. Always make sure to ask a parent to help you with any of this if you are unsure, and ensure you use the same and safe links. You will want to go to fabricmc.net, where you can get the official download. It’s really simple; all you have to do is hit download here and select the download for Windows. Once you hit that, you will see a little pop-up. Click “Save File,” and I’ll show you what to do next. After this, click on the downloaded file, and it will open up a little window. This window is for setting up your Fabric installer, where you can select the version you want. Obviously, if this is a later version, you should select the latest one. Always make sure that the loader version is up to date. Once you have done that, hit “Install.” I won’t do this since I already have it installed, but you will see it appear in your Minecraft launcher. If it’s not there, go to “Installations,” hit “New Installation,” scroll all the way down to where it says “Fabric,” and then hit “Done” or “Create.” As you can see, it’s right there. When I hit “Play,” it will launch. The first time you do this, you will want to hit “Play” to open it up. Once you’ve done that, we can move on to the next step. The next step is to install the following three mods: Fabric API from CurseForge, Iris Shaders also from CurseForge, and Sodium from CurseForge. I will leave these links in the description below to ensure you go to the correct locations. You will want to download each of these. I’m going to do one right now since I already have the mods installed. Once you do this, it should pop up; hit “Save File.” Now, the next step is to add these mods to your Minecraft game. You will need to hit the Windows key and R. When that window pops up, type in `%appdata%` followed by one of these backward slashes, then `.minecraft\`. Once you do that, it will open up your Minecraft folder. As you can see, I have my Minecraft folder right here, and you will notice that there is a folder named “mods” where you can add the downloaded mods. Open up your Downloads folder and simply drag the mods into this folder. As you can see, these are some of my mods. I use Auto Brightness and a couple of others that help optimize Minecraft. So far, I haven’t really seen a significant performance increase, but they work. Stick the downloaded mods in this folder, and you’re good to go. Simply reopen Minecraft, and you will have your mods. After this, your Minecraft will be optimized. You can see this in the video settings, where it will look much better. You can install your shader packs and increase quality; everything about Fabric is really awesome and customizable. That’s about it! If you enjoyed the video, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe. This video took a lot of time to make, and I hope it has helped you. I tried to make it as short and concise as possible because I think you prefer shorter, less watered-down videos. If you like that, don’t forget to subscribe, and I can’t wait to see you in the next video. See ya!
