Hey everybody! It’s UnderMyCap, and welcome back to another video. Today, I’m going to show you how to upgrade to Netherite armor in the new 1.20 update. This update is super cool, and I’m going to cover a whole bunch of things in it. One interesting feature that Mojang has added is a new crafting method to make Netherite armor. As you can see, there is a new item in the game called the Smithing Template. This can be obtained through bastions and is super useful for making Netherite armor. If you want to craft it, you can’t do so without a template, but you can duplicate it. To duplicate the Smithing Template, go to a crafting table, put diamonds around a Netherite block, and then place the Smithing Template on top. You’ll get two Smithing Templates from this process, so it’s highly recommended to duplicate it before you actually use it for the first time. Now, I’m going to quickly grab a few of these Smithing Templates and some Netherite Ingots, and we’re going to head over to our Diamond Armor stand to use a Smithing Table. Typically, a Smithing Table wouldn’t work in the same way, but in the new update, it has a new block state or a new way to use it. I had a few texture packs on, so it was changing a few things, but you can see we have this new upgrade area. To use it, place your Smithing Templates in the left area. You can upgrade both your weapons and your armor. I’m going to place the Diamond Chestplate into this slot here and then need to put my Netherite Ingot in this area. As you can see, it displays a really cool 3D replica of what the upgrade will look like. Click on it, and you’ll notice that it performs the upgrade. You can do this with all your pieces of armor. I’m going to make a full Netherite set by placing all of my armor here, and there’s the achievement! Now, I am wearing the Netherite armor. Another really cool thing I’d like to cover is that you can add patterns to your armor. Yes, you heard that right! You can add patterns. There are a whole bunch of Smithing Templates that you can acquire by playing Minecraft. I’m going to grab a few to show you what they do. I’ll take a diamond, and actually, any ore will work here, so I’ll just use a diamond and an emerald. I’ll head back to the upgrade table, and instead of placing the Netherite upgrade here, we’re going to place the pattern here along with the piece of armor that we wish to change to that pattern and a piece of any ore. As you can see, we’ve created a really cool pattern now! I’m going to equip this, and it looks amazing! Thank you so much for watching! If you enjoyed the video, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe. I can’t wait to see you in the next video. See ya!
