Hey everybody, it’s Under My Cap, and welcome back to another video. Today, I’m going to show you how to use the NPC, as well as how to obtain it. This is a new entity; you might be thinking it’s always been here, but it’s actually only been available in the Education Edition and not on Java. This is really cool because they’re starting to add a whole bunch of blocks from Education Edition into Bedrock, and I really hope they add them to Java as well. As you’ve heard, this is going to be a Bedrock video, so anything I do here will not work on Java, or at least not at this moment. But without further ado, let’s get straight into it! As you can see, if you search for “NPC” in the search bar, you’ll notice nothing pops up. So, we actually have to use the command line. Let’s go into the command chat and type in `/give`. This is a give command because you want to give yourself the spawn egg. Then, you want to type in `spawn_egg`. Now, you need to specify what type of spawn egg you want, so we’re going to say we want one of them, and the ID is going to be 51. Now, 51 is the ID of the NPC, and when I click Next, you should notice that I get this rainbow-looking egg. This is the NPC! When I place it, you’ll notice that it looks just like a villager, except it has more color. If I place another one, you’ll notice that they all look the same because you have to customize them a bit. So let’s go up to this one first to customize. To customize, you have to tap the edit button, which is at the bottom. You tap that, and you can actually choose what you want them to look like. I’m just going to make mine look like this for now, and we can change the name to “Test Subject.” Now, what you can actually do is edit their dialogue as well. Let’s say I’ll just say “Hello.” Now that we’ve got his dialogue set up, when we go into survival mode instead of popping up with the edit button, it’s going to say “Talk.” So when I press “Talk,” you’ll notice it will pop up with the dialogue saying “Hello.” Also, one thing I did notice is that the box through which the NPCs talk gives a live preview of what they’re actually looking at. So if I build up words, and then tap on the NPC, you’ll notice their head is literally right at the edge, staring at us, which is really funny. Now, let’s move on to the next NPC. Instead of making it talk, we’re going to go into advanced settings and add a command to it. This is really cool because you can add whatever command you want. So we’re just going to use the basic give command. I will turn it into button mode, and now let’s exit out of that and see what it’s like in survival mode. As you can see here, we’ve got the apple button, and then when I press it, you notice I get given an apple because of the give command. I can use this as much as I like: press the apple button, talk, press the apple button, and I can just constantly receive apples. This is really cool for maps; you can have NPCs located everywhere, giving you certain items, and I really like this feature. Now, moving on to our last NPC, you’ll notice that when I press edit, you can also have dialogue as well. So if we say “Hello,” you can have dialogue along with commands. Let’s say I want to add a command. If you do add a command, you need to make sure it is in button mode because the command actually won’t work otherwise. So I’ll just say “Give.” Please note that NPCs are really easy to remove because they are one hit; as soon as I hit them, they’re gone, and you lose all of the stuff you put into the NPC. Therefore, if you are using NPCs, I would recommend copying and pasting your text into the NPC just in case anyone gets rid of them, and also make sure that your commands are correct, as they can be quite useful. Thank you so much for watching! If you enjoyed this video, please leave a like and subscribe to the channel if you’re new. Also, comment about what you want me to do next; I’m open to suggestions.
