This Week’s Best Featured Worlds Inside Rec Room VR

Hey everyone, if it’s Tuesday, it’s featured rooms day. So, without further ado, let’s see what’s been featured this week. The first room we’re diving into is Mansion Mates. Wow, okay, this is already so cool. Look at this! We’ve got some nice trees, fireflies, and an awesome cozy house. Let’s go straight in. Okay, awesome. We’ve got some music called “Placement Song Text.” That’s my favorite song. There’s also a little share screen, which is very cool. Let’s see what’s on TV. Oh, it’s me watching TV. Watching TV. Watching TV. Watching TV. Okay, we’ll go outside. Oh wow, look at that boat! The boat over there looks so detailed. We’re definitely going to have to check that out. Let’s run. Look at this scenery as well—that is so cool. Let’s jump up onto here. That has to not be Make a Ben. After close assessment, I think it’s Studio, but still, this room is super cool. Next, we have Deadline 10. Oh wow. Oh, it’s horror. No, no, no, no, no, no! Okay, so I’m not the best with horror, but look how tall this guy is. Seriously, look at this! I’m so short. We have this cool little setup. It’s all moving, which is very cool. The guy is moving; I don’t know if you can see that. The roof is even moving as well. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but let’s see—how do you play? Is there a stop button? Wait, hang on. How did I walk through…? Oh, here it is. Let’s go. Act One. This seems like a full story. Party up with friends? Okay, let’s click. It looks like we’re ready to go, so I’ll click “I am ready.” You really have to hold this to confirm you’re ready. Okay, we’re ready. Starting the game. Three… Two… One. What’s this? Is that a phone? I can’t see. My legs are broken. Oh! We’re moving. Human safety alert: a new deadly virus has broken out in the area, and locals are calling it the… According to the scientists observing the virus, it will break down brain cells until it turns you into… What am I? Oh, be safe out there. Okay, out there, everyone! Very cool. Is that me? Is that me? Oh, we’re moving around. Whoa! Ah, my hearing—what the hell? Okay, this is cool. Very cool. Oh, please no… Perhaps the stuff I just had is causing me some problems. Let’s go through here. Oh, wait, there’s a countdown. Is this like an escape room or something? What the hell? No, no, no, no, no, no! That thing is so creepy. Can’t it walk up the stairs? I think it’s dumb. I kind of want to walk toward it just in case. Let’s see—oh, it walked through the door. Oh my gosh. I died. That’s okay. Moving on to the next featured room. Wow, this one is called Sectra Train. I might have pronounced that wrong, but it looks amazing. Look at that train in front of me, and the particles and windmills—there’s so much detail. The trees, the scenery—this is truly incredible. Of course, we have to hop on that train. So, let’s go. Okay, I guess we wait for the train. Is it coming? I think we missed it, actually. Or maybe it’s coming from that direction. The scenery in this room is absolutely breathtaking—so cool. There are even little particles floating in the air. I don’t know if they show up on camera. Maybe we should follow the train. Let’s go this way. I don’t know if this is what we’re supposed to do, but we might get hit by the train. At the moment of editing, I actually didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing. I kept running forward to places I didn’t understand. Anyway, let’s move to the next room. Pretty cool so far. Now, I’m very excited for this next one: Loi Cat Cafe. Let’s join. Look at that! This is called Loi Cat Cafe. Look at all those cats! Can I pat them? Oh, look, there’s one sitting! I can sit in it, too. Unfortunately, I don’t get a great view, but at least look at this. Here are all the creators. It’s pretty cool. We have someone serving treats, which you can pay for. Very nice. There’s a daily rewards system, too. Wow! Inside, there’s music playing. Look at this—a little robot cat! Can I pick it up if I pay with treats? Oh, look at all these items. These are pillows; that’s pretty neat. I initially thought that was a mirror, but it’s just a reflection. There’s a cafe area with some outfits on display. Can I pick these up? I imagine you have to pay for them because they’re items—oh, wait, I can pick them up. That’s very cool. Here, we see some cat treats on a stand and an ice cream cone—super adorable. I love this room. I could spend a long time in here, but let’s move on to the next one. Finally, I think there’s only time for one more room. We’re headed to Skate Legends. Let’s go to the park. This is our last setup for the day. Wow, this looks really fun. It seems like the environment is created for skateboarding. To go, you just hold this little skateboard object. It would probably make more sense with a bean character, but still, it works. Whoa! Okay. I had to switch my character temporarily. Now, I’ve got this skateboard, and I just click to move. Let’s grab this camera here. You can see I have a small controller in my hand, and I just click to go. You can go up ramps and do tricks. Whoa! You can really ride around with these. This is pretty cool—magic! Now, we’re back to a more normal appearance. Wait, where’s my nose? It looks like I’m going to have to do most of this without my nose. We also have spray cans here, some of which are broken, but maybe I can replace my nose with one. That’s pretty fun.
