Okay, so I’m really hoping that this stream is now working. I did try to do a live stream before, so fingers crossed this is working. I’m just going to set up my little camera here so I can talk to the camera. Let’s see if this goes. I really hope it’s live. Can someone please let me know if this is live? We’re streaming right now to I think YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok all at once, so this is really cool. If I could just have someone let me know that this is going ahead, I do apologize—there was a stream before, but for some reason it crashed. I don’t know why, but we’re back. You can see it’s a beautiful day in Minecraft VR. We’ve got a lot of stuff to do. If you haven’t already watched the series, by the way, definitely check out the first two episodes on the YouTube channel. Wait, is it two or one? No, it’s actually just one. I can’t count. But definitely go check those out because they serve as an introduction to how we got here. Now, if I bring this over here—hey, Four, how you doing? Four from YouTube, what’s up? I’m going to move the camera so you can see what we’re doing. Last time, we made a really nice food farm because of the biome we’re in; there are sweet berries everywhere, which is a great food source to start with. We also caught some fish in the last episode, so that should be quite useful. Please let me know if the quality is good. I think the bird sounds in the background might be a bit loud, but it doesn’t matter much. We have fish; I don’t think it’s cooked. Is it cooked? It’s really hard in VR to tell if fish is cooked. Is cooked fish more pale? I don’t know if that’s cooked or not. Well, there’s only one way to find out. We’re going to take it over to the furnace. A really cool thing about this, I have a mod installed that allows you to place items onto the furnace. You can see it’s a bit weird—it should be cooking that salmon, but instead, you can interact with the furnace directly rather than opening it. I can click on the fish, so I added—excuse me—why can I not add… there we go, I added 30 fish, but it’s not cooking. Where’s the coal gone? Coal, coal, coal… yep, the fish. We need the coal. Where do I find coal in my inventory? I don’t know if you can see the inventory I opened last time. We did get one of the new items from an update—an ominous potion that you get from killing a pillager. We don’t want to drink it because I don’t want to deal with that yet. You can see I’m only wearing no iron, no diamond armor, so that’s a priority—definitely something we need to do. Let’s put that potion back in the inventory and place the coal in the furnace. We want to cook more fish. Honestly, I don’t know why it’s not cooking. Oh, I’m an idiot—it is cooked fish. I’ve been putting raw fish in there; it’s cooked salmon. We have a good food source. I’m going to eat it now because I’m very hungry. The weird thing is you can’t see the UI on your screen in VR; you can only see it on my arm. The chat and everything are also visible on my arm, which is really cool. Today’s mission is to build a house because Minecraft VR is a little scary, and I want a house to stay in so I won’t get exploded by a creeper. First, do we have an axe from last time? No? Good, we have plenty of wood to craft one, and I have a lot of stone to make a stone axe. We also have 21 iron, which I think I’ll save for armor. Since we’re only staying in this area, I won’t craft armor yet because if I die, it’s not a big issue. We need to be strategic with our materials. Oh, you can’t see it. Hang on, can you see it now? It’s a bit hard to show; if I move the camera, you can see my inventory. We have the ominous potion, some moss carpet—I can’t remember how we got that from the last episode, it’s been so long. We don’t need a wooden axe; I don’t know how to get rid of the unwanted items. Looks like we might be stuck with that. Anyway, let’s craft an axe at the crafting table. Perfect. Now we can chop trees. Tree chopping is quite difficult because you have to put effort into swinging your hand at the block. We’re going to look for some smaller trees. I’ll move the camera so you can see. Let’s chop these ones—they look manageable. Not too tall, not the worst. We’ll move closer and grab the axe. Hello, how are you doing, Rock The Slayer? Welcome to the chat. I’m chopping down trees over here. You definitely can’t see me very well; I’m too far from the camera. It’s challenging to keep track of the camera because it doesn’t follow me automatically. You really have to swing your hand to break the trees, not just press a button. So I’ll jump in real life and smack the wood down like so. Mining in VR feels more realistic that way. I don’t know how much wood we’ll need, but I’ll continue chopping this tree. This adds to the immersion, I think—having to physically swing. I don’t know if you’ve ever played Minecraft VR, but it’s quite a different experience from regular Minecraft. It’s pretty scary at times, especially when zombies come very close, because they are massive in this game. Sorry, I’m currently in the middle of a tree—will be out of it very soon. I wonder if I can toggle the camera off or move my point of view. Let’s see if you can see through my POV now. You can see my arms and the high-up view of the tree, but it’s too far away. Do you prefer the first-person point of view, or do you prefer being able to see through the camera? I’m not sure which is better. First-person gives a different angle; the camera view shows more of the surroundings. Oops, I accidentally started a vertical stream on YouTube. Sorry about that. It’s my first time using this streaming program. Let’s jump up. Maybe we can build a treehouse? That could be cool. Let’s try chopping some more trees. The world here is really cool—this giant tree was fun to cut down. Tree chopping requires effort, but it’s satisfying. We’ll add the wood to the ground and jump up again. The awesome part about this world is that I host it on a server. My plan is to let you guys join and interact during streams once I get everything set up. It’s a work in progress. I forgot how to use the backpack; I can’t get rid of it now. You have to reach into it to remove items—very interesting. Anyway, we got some more wood. Now, I’m trying to figure out where to build. I think this is a perfect spot. I’ll pull the camera out so you can see. We’re surrounded by trees, and our food farm from last episode is right there. There’s a nice river nearby, which provides salmon as a food source. I don’t know if you can see the fish, but they’re in the water. Drowning is a concern in VR, so I need to be careful. Luckily, the salmon are a good food source. Uh-oh, the sun is about to set. Things get scary when night falls, especially if I have a resource pack that adds horror elements—I haven’t checked if I added that. Anyway, I want to settle in this area because it’s perfect. Let’s chop this small log before it gets dark. I think we should be able to work in the dark okay. The ambient sounds change as night approaches. There’s a cave nearby or maybe just a water pocket. I don’t want to go towards it because it’s dark and spooky. Let’s clear some weeds and make the area tidy. It’s almost a workout—VR really gets your heart rate up. We’re getting a lot of wheat seeds from clearing the weeds, which is good. Nighttime means mobs can spawn behind the camera—I’ll try to turn it around briefly so you can see. I see a berry bush across the river—be careful, those hurt you if you touch them. I somehow got this backpack again; it’s a bit annoying. Let’s clear out the weeds, make sure this space is neat so we can build a house here. I want to get a pet dog today—that would be really cool. If anyone knows in the comments whether you can still get bones from salmon, let me know. I’ve spent about 20 minutes fishing and got no bones, but I swear you used to be able to get bones from salmon. Anyway, I see a tiny baby zombie come out of nowhere—that was scary. It was no bigger than this torch—probably about half a meter. Then suddenly, it turned into a two-meter-tall zombie. The zombie’s massive; I don’t even know where it came from, which is crazy. We can deal with it another day. I thought light stopped mobs from spawning, but maybe they spawn in darker, gloomy areas. For now, I’ll leave it. We just need to focus on building a house. I’m not very good at building, so this will be interesting. Let’s clear some weeds around here. I like having trees nearby—they add character to the area. I’ll also check my food supply; I might get hungry again. Let’s harvest everything. This area is looking pretty
