Every New 1.20 Particle in Minecraft Trails and Tales

Welcome back everybody! Today we are diving into all the brand new particles that arrived with the Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update. The best part is that this guide works for both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, so no matter how you play, you can get these amazing effects into your own world. Let’s jump right in!

The Block Particle from Suspicious Blocks

The archaeology update added a fun new mechanic where you can brush suspicious sand and suspicious gravel. When you brush these special blocks, you will notice a cool particle effect coming off them. If you think this looks familiar, you are right! This is actually the block particle, the same one you see when you break a block.

What makes this so cool is that you can set it to any block you like. In this update it is tied to the suspicious blocks, but the flexibility here is really neat for anyone who loves building and creating custom scenes.

The Egg Crack Particle

Next up is the egg crack particle. This one shows up with a nice green effect when you interact with certain blocks. To spawn it yourself, you just need to use this command:

/particle minecraft:egg_crack ~ ~ ~ 0.2 0.2 0.2 0 10 force

After typing the particle name, you add your positioning, then your delta points. In the example a simple 0.2 was used, followed by the 0, the 10, and force at the end. It is a simple green particle that adds a nice touch to your world.

The Cherry Leaves Particle

Now for the star of the show. The cherry leaves particle is honestly one of the best particles in the whole game. These soft pink petals drifting through the air give any area a beautiful atmosphere. It just makes everything feel so much nicer.

To get this particle in Java Edition, use the following command:

/particle minecraft:cherry_leaves

Please note that this exact command will not work on Bedrock Edition, but do not worry because there is a way to get it there too.

How to Get Cherry Leaves on Bedrock Edition

Over in Bedrock Edition, the cherry blossom particles look almost identical to Java, which is great. To spawn them, you simply place the particle command into a command block. When you activate it, the petals appear right above your chosen spot, floating down beautifully just like in Java.

Removing the Annoying Command Text

One small issue you might notice is the command output text popping up in the corner of your screen. This can get a little annoying, but there is an easy fix. Just use this command:

/gamerule commandBlockOutput false

This works on both Java and Bedrock, and once you type it in, that annoying text disappears while your particles keep looking amazing.

Final Thoughts

The new particles in Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales are a fantastic addition. Whether it is the block particle from brushing, the green egg crack effect, or the gorgeous cherry leaves, there is plenty here to make your builds feel more alive.

If you spotted any other new particles, feel free to share them! And keep an eye out for more content on this awesome update coming very soon. Happy crafting and see you in the next one!
