Minecraft Let’s Play: Building Our First Farm and Food Source

Hey everybody and welcome back to our let’s play in Minecraft and today we’ve got some plans we need to do. You can see last time we were inside of this world. We found a brand new companion. We still haven’t named him yet. He’s so cute. Look at his little face. We also kind of set up like some storage which is kind of good to get us to organize our stuff a little bit. And we also set up the front. We put some berries out the front. What was that? Oh, they’re fireflies. Oh, okay. That’s so cool. We also found these firefly bushes as well, which are really cool. I love this update so much. I love how it makes it still feel like the old version of Minecraft. but we need to Oh my god, I’m about to die. I’m about to die. I’m about to die. Um, but today we need to first of all sleep before that enemy comes too close to the house. No. Okay, too close. Um, you might be able to get rid of it. It’s pretty spooky looking. Um, not the best. But today, as I was saying, we need to make a food source. I’m thinking of making like a farm, more of just like a type of crop farm. I think we have some wheat seeds, but I’ll put it right next to the house and we can have like some sort of like little food source. Um, I think that’s probably one of the best food sources we have, isn’t it? Yes, it is. Um, so I think we should do that.This gu is not going to leave me alone. If I walk over here, we might be able to like attract him to walk around the side of the house and then potentially if I run over to this bed and I click on it. Yes, there we are. We just cheated the system. Um, but that drowned should start cooking. You can definitely hear him burning up in the fire right now. I’m going to eat some of these berries and I’ll just wait for him to do his thing. There we are. And perfect.So, I reckon it would be nice if we had like farmland right next to the house potentially or like I’m trying to think. So, we have this side as an option. And we Oh my goodness. Okay, I’m seriously going to die soon. I seriously will die because of those bushes. In fact, let me just harvest these really quickly. So, we have that side over there, which is quite nice. And we also have to the left of the house, which probably might be a bit more practical, I think. Yeah, we’ve got a cave opening. Um, you want some berries? Okay, now. Um, and yeah, I think we can just build it out and maybe next to this side of the house. Oops. Um, but first of all, let’s fill this hole in so I don’t keep on constantly like falling into this gap. It’s really annoying me like this.Do we have enough dirt to fill this up? Now, we’re also going to need to go mining as well, cuz I need to get some iron. Um, or copper. Copper is actually quite okay now that they’ve updated it. Um, ideally iron’s okay, but we need to get some nice tools to help um make this area. We also need to get iron to make a bucket so we can actually grab water um and make a nice little area. But I think we’re going to dig this area out. So, let’s just grab a shovel. Let’s make a shovel. Do I have a shovel? It’s on the tiniest amount of durability ever. So, we okay, I need to label these. Let’s make a shovel with our copper cuz I don’t want to use our iron just yet. Um, we need to get a stick, don’t we? Which barrel would that be? Singular stick. Well, we’re not going to waste it. Um, that should be aok. Okay. Um, craft some sticks. Copper shovel. Look at that. Oh, do we have a copper axe? We do. Oh, I love the music that’s playing right now. So, when I was younger, this is like the old music soundtrack. So good. I love it so much. I miss the old Minecraft. Also miss it when I was younger, but I guess as time goes on, you just learn with it and go where life takes you. But I’m so glad I can start this series again. Um, using this like older texture pack cuz it really makes the game feel nice all over again.Yeah. Oh, come down soon. So, you can see this. Chop these trees down as well. No. So, when Minecraft first came out, I don’t actually think they have these spruce trees. This is my favorite type of tree in the game by far. Comment what your favorite wood is in the description, but this one definitely my favorite. Um, I love these biomes cuz it’s more of like a foresty type of feel, whereas the plains feels just very empty. Um, you also get these really nice berry bushes in this area as well. Let’s chop this area out. Make this a little bit nicer. Like that. Oh, is there some wood there? We do not want to waste any of it. I actually don’t think I have been collecting these saplings. So, we will need to collect some um so we can replenish the amount of trees we’ve chopped down. Um, I really want Oh, maybe maybe the farm should come all the way down here. That would be really cool, actually. I’m going to do that. And I might also like put some trees in the farm area as well. I reckon that would be quite a cool little addition to the farmland.Let’s get chopping. We have some vines over here as well. Very nice. Chop that down. Okay, I’m going to cut back once I’ve finished chopping everything down because I acknowledge this stuff is probably very boring. Oh, sapling. Oh, also, um, so last episode I asked you guys what name we should use for our dog. Um, unfortunately, as I’m recording this video, that video is actually not public. So, the dog still stays unnamed. We don’t know what his name is yet. Um, but we’ll we’ll figure it out. I still like the name Archie, but I mean, if you guys have a different name in mind, that’s going to be completely fine.Um, but yeah, so this is looking okay. Um, I don’t think we need to make the area any larger. Uh, but we will need a fence. We need a fence. And I’m going to make the fence wooden because I think if we’re going to want to match the house, then that’s a good idea. But also, we have a lot of wood now. Like a ridiculous amount of wood. I’m going to relocate this crafting table as well, just so I’m not like running in and out of the house constantly.Ouch. These are going to really cause problems, aren’t they? I bet you in the future I’m going to these one of these bushes is going to kill me somehow. Um, let’s put this here and craft some of these fences. I remember they once used to be craftable with just sticks, which was kind of cool, but I guess I guess it makes sense that you need a bit more wood. So, we need to craft some more of this. 24 27 30. How much How much fence would I need?Um, I reckon we’re going to go like outwards. So, like this sapling. Like this. I don’t think any further would be necessary, right? Oh, you get seeds from these. Okay. We also need our dirt. Do we not have any What’s my pick block? That’s not pick block. Oh, I used to have I used to have something enabled on my controller where I could like point at a like a block and it would set it to my hand. But it looks like we don’t have that. So, that is fine. We’ll just make use with that like this. Oh, a new song started playing. I haven’t heard this one before, so have to see how this goes. But there’s just something about Minecraft music which is just so nice and so like unique. It m it makes it feel like really chill, like really nice and calm.I think that looks natural, right? I like Yeah, I reckon it looks okay, right? And then we’ll put like some more fence. You know what? Let’s just do one more and then cut it off. We’ll go this way. How big do we want this farm area to be? I reckon this is perfectly fine. This this is going to be a massive pond. You’re right. Oops. Didn’t mean to do that. That’s fine. We’ll just remove it. Uh so I do need to craft some more fences. So let’s do this. Oh, hang on. That was the wrong button. I wasn’t supposed to click more on that. Literally having a brain fart right now. I find that so annoying, actually. I have those all the time where seriously like my brain is just not working.Um, that is a okay, now I kind of want to like make sure that nature is preserved in this world. So, I’m going to use like a fence and I’m going to just make it go up to the tree. I reckon that’s a cool idea. Um, we will chop. Actually, let’s let’s not do the fence there. Let’s make it go out just a little bit further. like this. Oh, this is really cool music, actually. I think I’ve heard this on the the loading screen before. Let’s come out a bit more. I reckon there is great.Now, I want to make sure that we have torches to put out. If not, we’re going to just break this one because we do not want to get attacked tonight. Um, let’s do that. Um, I just don’t want the trees to get like stuck. You get this like ugly looking fence. Uh, that looks okay. And now this is where we get interesting. So like this tree is obviously blocking this area, but maybe if we chop this bit. Okay, we’ll we’ll chop this tree. I’m sorry, tree. I think we’ll keep the other trees.Oh, there’s another block up there. Okay, we put this here. I bet you there’s another one. There was another one. Perfect.I also wonder if this music starts playing as it gets darker because I swear whenever it’s nighttime, this music starts to play. That is okay. Um, also I want this area to look a little bit more like natural. So, we’re going to keep these like differences in. What if we had like a little waterfallish thing? That would be so cool. So, like it’s like a little river or something like Oh, ouch. Hello. Welcome. Welcome to the place.Uh, what was I saying? Yeah, like a little waterfall or something. Just like here. Maybe we terraform just a little gap like this. Like that. Does that look bad? Just as long as we have some sort of like natural thing that would look really cool. Like a a natural river like this. That seems cool. I reckon it does take up a little bit more space, but I think it’s just a cool concept to have like a sort of like rivery type of thing that like flows into the water. Really cool. This is the thing I missed about Minecraft, like where you could just think like you could just do stuff really super chilled.Okay guys, we need to calm down. I don’t want you to come out and hit me. But yeah, I feel like all of the I mentioned this a lot. Lots of YouTube videos on the Minecraft topic are really intense. Like they it it kind of sets a a standard of like, oh, if you want to make Minecraft on content, you have to compete with us, which spend like hours perfecting building like all these massive builds. And to be honest, people are really good at building, but it it feels like you can’t really have a lot of fun anymore. You’re trying to compete to make the next biggest thing when you really forget that the point of the game is just to be creative and to have fun.And I think that I’m so excited to start a series like this because you get to like really just enjoy it and it it takes its time away. I’m not hardcore, so if I die, there’s no there’s no like there’s nothing bad. Like that’s why I think it’s a really cool idea. I’m not constantly stressing or anxious every episode. Um, and I think more people should be playing Minecraft like this because it’s it’s a really fun way to play it. Let’s get rid of this stone right here. I think that’s also why I stepped away from Minecraft for a little bit cuz it just felt like I wouldn’t be able to compete. Oh my gosh.Okay, I think it’s time for bed. I think it’s time for bed. Yeah. Awesome. Let me eat this. And like also a thing as well, I have the world set to easy, so there’s no stress for that. Like it’s nice to just have no real stress. All my tools are about to die, actually. That’s kind of a bit annoying. Let’s come out here.Okay, this is cool. So, we’ll get this up. Then we have to get seeds. Seeds should be okay. We’ll just get bone meal maybe and then just harvest it cuz there’s not a lot of bushes here. Like, there’s hardly any bushes. We also need to get some iron as well.Um, can I get rid of this creeper from the other side of the fence like this? No. No. No. Oh my gosh. That’s what happens if you if you screw around with the creepers. Can I pick that up? I don’t think I can pick it up. That’s a shame. Oh well. Oh well. Positive thinking. Positive thinking. It’s just it’s just a inconvenience. It just slows it down a little bit. But that is aok.Okay. Now, I actually don’t mind creepers in my craft. I mean, they do stress you out quite a bit, but like it’s cool cool to have them. I I saw I think I was talking about it in like the last episode, but um yeah, like Minecraft potentially wouldn’t have been added if it wasn’t for um for their new like rules that they implemented about how mobs and like events happen in game.So Mojang’s concept of how a player should play Minecraft is along the lines of um the player shouldn’t be responsible or the player should be responsible for any major in-game events that happen. So um that can clearly be seen through um raids. If you decide to um kill one of the villagers with like their banner on their back, um you will trigger a raid. And that’s kind of a like a a known. And they actually did change it recently. Um I believe if you kill one of the pillagers, they drop a um like a potion that you can drink. So it really prevents people from accidentally like triggering raids when you don’t really want a raid to happen.So, that’s kind of cool. But like, yeah, creepers wouldn’t be added because they kind of slip out of nowhere and they just decide to kill you quite badly.Um, we have two seeds. I just noticed. Do we have any other seeds in here? I don’t think so. Oh, and the crafting table is right out here. I should probably also harvest these. The These are like our main food source right now, which is a little bit annoying, but that is a Okay. The these are like dangerous dangerous berry bushes.Okay, awesome. So, we have that. Let’s continue with this. Oh, hang on. I need to get the shovel. Um Oh, my controller just disconnected. Can we connect again, please? There we are. Okay. Nope. We just disconnected again. Okay, that’s Oh no. Wait, guys. This is bad. I think I think I’m out of battery. I actually think I’m out of battery. Oh gosh. Okay, this is like a really lame way to to end the video.
