Minecraft Let’s Play: Building Our First Farm for Easy Food in a Relaxed Minecraft World

Minecraft Let’s Play: Building Our First Farm and Food Source

Welcome back to another relaxing episode of our Minecraft let’s play! In this part of the series, we roll up our sleeves and start creating a proper food source for our world. It doesn’t go completely to plan, but that is all part of the fun of playing Minecraft in a chilled and stress free way.

Catching Up On Our World

Before diving into today’s build, we took a moment to look back at what we have already done. We found an adorable new dog companion (still unnamed, though Archie is a strong contender!), set up some storage to keep things organised, and decorated the front of the house with berry bushes.

One of the coolest parts of this world is the fireflies and firefly bushes. They really add to the atmosphere and make the game feel magical. If you love that classic old school Minecraft vibe, this update mixed with an older texture pack captures it perfectly.

Dealing With Night Time Enemies

As any Minecraft player knows, night time brings some unwanted visitors. We had a drowned wandering a little too close to the house, so we cleverly lured it around the side and jumped straight into bed to skip to morning. The mob ended up burning in the sunlight, which sorted that problem out nicely.

Starting The Crop Farm

The main goal for this episode was building a farm right next to the house. A simple crop farm is one of the best and most reliable food sources in the game, especially since we had some wheat seeds ready to go.

Here is what we worked on:

  • Choosing the best spot for the farm, right beside the house for easy access
  • Filling in an annoying hole so we stop falling into it
  • Chopping down spruce trees to gather plenty of wood
  • Collecting saplings so we can replant and keep nature preserved

Spruce trees are honestly the best wood type in the game. What is your favourite type of wood? Let us know!

Crafting Tools And Fences

Since our tools were running low on durability, we crafted a new copper shovel and axe. Copper has become a really useful material since its recent update, so we saved our iron for other things like making a bucket later on.

Next up came the fencing. We went with wooden fences to match the look of the house. We had gathered so much wood that crafting plenty of fences was no trouble at all. To keep things looking natural, we built the fence around some trees and even planned out a little river or waterfall feature flowing into the water. Small touches like that make a build feel alive.

Why We Love Playing Minecraft This Way

One thing worth mentioning is how relaxed this style of play is. So many Minecraft videos feel intense, with huge builds and pressure to compete. But the real point of the game is to be creative and have fun.

Playing on easy mode with no hardcore rules means there is no constant stress or anxiety. If something goes wrong, it is no big deal. More people should try playing Minecraft this way because it is genuinely enjoyable and calming.

A Quick Word On Creepers And Raids

We had a run in with a creeper on the wrong side of the fence, which caused a small explosion. Not ideal, but just a minor inconvenience!

Interestingly, Mojang designs Minecraft so the player is responsible for major in game events. For example, raids only trigger if you attack a villager or pillager carrying a banner. They even updated things so pillagers drop an item you can drink to avoid triggering a raid accidentally. Creepers, on the other hand, sneak up out of nowhere, which keeps you on your toes.

A Slightly Unexpected Ending

Just as we were making great progress, disaster struck. My controller battery died and disconnected! It is a bit of a lame way to end things, but the farm is well on its way.

We will finish the farm in the next episode, which will be part two of our farm creation. Thanks so much for reading and watching. If you enjoyed this, please leave a like and subscribe. Stay awesome and see you in the next one!
