Minecraft Let’s Play Ep 6: Fresh Start Fishing, Bread, and a Smoker Upgrade

Minecraft Let’s Play Episode 6: We Went Fishing and Started Fresh!

Welcome back to another exciting Minecraft let’s play adventure! In this episode, we faced a bit of a setback but bounced right back with some fun new activities, including trying out fishing for the very first time in this series. Let’s dive into everything that happened!

Starting From Square One

So here’s the situation: I accidentally died in our let’s play world, which means we’re pretty much starting over. The good news? Before that unfortunate moment, I had stored away a whole bunch of resources. We’ve got plenty of iron sitting in our chests, roughly 13 pieces, plus a good amount of copper too. Since most of our tools last time were made from copper anyway, we should be just fine.

The first order of business was smelting as much as we could using our charcoal supply. Getting everything sorted out is key to bouncing back quickly after a death in Minecraft.

Our Thriving Crop Farm

Heading outside, I was thrilled to see our crop land is absolutely thriving! We had some wheat growing, and after harvesting, we ended up with seven wheat seeds. That’s a fantastic start for building up our food supply.

I decided to move the crops closer to the front for convenience. With eight wheat seeds to plant and more on the way, our farm is going to grow beautifully. Planting seeds sooner means faster crop growth, which is always a win.

A Close Call With a Creeper

Just when things were going smoothly, a creeper showed up! With no way to block it off, I had to make a run for it. Creepers have always been a bit of a weakness for me since I can never seem to hit them at the right time. Thankfully, I let it wander off and dealt with crafting instead.

Rebuilding Our Tools

After realizing I had lost most of my wood, it was time to head out and chop down some trees. I always try to be mindful about replanting saplings so we don’t leave a giant dent in the world. Sustainability matters, even in Minecraft!

With fresh spruce logs and wood collected, I crafted new sticks, tools, and got fully armored up again. It felt great to be back on our feet with proper equipment.

Baking Our First Loaf of Bread

With all that wheat, we were able to bake our very first loaves of bread, five in total! To celebrate, I shared a meal with our still unnamed dog. He couldn’t eat the bread, so I gave him something he could enjoy while we ate together. A cozy little moment in our adventure.

We Went Fishing!

The highlight of this episode was definitely trying out fishing. I noticed our river had some fish swimming around, along with a few drowned mobs to deal with first. After clearing things out, I decided to craft a fishing rod, which only needs two string and some sticks.

Fishing turned out to be a genuinely great way to gather food. We caught salmon, raw cod, and even a surprise unbreaking fishing rod! There’s something really relaxing about casting a line with calm music playing in the background. Sometimes it’s nice to just take a deep breath and enjoy the peaceful moments.

Cooking Faster With a Smoker

To cook all our fish more efficiently, I crafted a smoker. Since we were out of cobblestone, I repurposed our furnace to make one. The smoker cooks food incredibly fast, and it even has a cool animated look! We ended up with seven cooked salmon, which is an awesome food supply.

Wrapping Up the Episode

Before ending, I did a quick check on the farm and was happy to see even more wheat had already grown, likely thanks to being near a light source. We also spotted our friendly wandering trader who always seems to pop up.

This series is a super chill, laid back let’s play, and I’m having so much fun with it that I might even release two videos this week! Over time, I’d love to add some backstory, maybe invite special guests, and watch this world transform as we head toward episode 100.
