Jumping Into The World of Minecraft VR

Hey everybody, welcome back to the amazing world of Minecraft, with a twist—this time, we’re diving right into Minecraft VR! I’m super excited to announce a brand-new series where I will explore Minecraft Survival, but in virtual reality. Having only dabbled with it once, I’m now ready to fully immerse myself in this engaging experience. Let’s dive in!

The Vastness of Minecraft VR

The first thing you’ll notice when you jump into Minecraft VR is the sheer scale of everything. Imagine looking at a cow, a simple animal in the default game, and it’s almost as tall as you! Suddenly, the basic elements of the game take on a whole new life. You’ll find yourself staring at villagers that are larger than life, and even a villager’s nose seems the size of your hand.

Exploring New Terrain

Right after spawning, I found myself amidst a village—a stroke of luck for any survivalist. An exciting feature is the mod I’ve installed, which generates custom structures. Right here in VR, I can see a vast landscape dotted with intriguing buildings to explore.

First Attempts and Challenges

Entering the first house felt odd but thrilling. It’s a strange feeling to open a door and have to actually step inside. As I entered, I was taken aback by the giant villager. It was immersive and slightly overwhelming, being nose-to-nose with this massive virtual character.

Inside, one of my first tasks was to gather wood. And let me tell you, chopping wood in VR is no easy feat! It’s a workout—it involved a lot of real-life swinging and punching motions. As I demolished parts of the villager’s house to gather resources, I found it to be a hilarious and fascinating experience.

Gathering Essentials While Navigating VR Mechanics

Getting to grips with the mechanics was a bit of a challenge. Each simple action, like accessing a crafting table or opening a door, felt entirely new. The intuitive nature of VR means you divert into so many real-life movements, right from jumping around obstacles, to genuinely ducking to avoid a mob. Getting wood and crafting my first set of tools brought a simple satisfaction that you often forget in the conventional game.

Encounters with Villagers

During my exploration, I came across Daryl, a villager who wasn’t quite thrilled with me using his crafting table. Daryl was persistent, and it added a humorous spin having to physically shoo him away! Then there was Bernard, a dignified villager with a monocle—a pretty fancy character. Naming these villagers added a whole new personal layer to the game, deepening the immersion.

The Real-World Physicality of Minecraft VR

What took me by surprise was how physically involved the game becomes. Gathering resources, such as wood, or jumping to reach areas—each task compelled me to perform the physical action. Whether chopping trees or leaping across gaps, you’re fully engaged, turning a game session into an unintended workout!

Unexpected Discoveries

While rummaging through the village, I found some glow berries, which bizarrely provided light when held in my off-hand. The moment I realized this, it was like the room lit up, creating an ambient glow—absolutely fantastic!

Establishing a Home Base

The ongoing goal is to set a proper base camp, ensuring all necessities are in place for a successful game. But before that, I needed to clean up Daryl’s house a bit, as one does when you take over someone else’s space.

A quick exploration upstairs revealed more surprises. Each room seemed to promise different tales—or threats—leading to set up some safety rules like keeping doors closed to avoid unwanted intrusions from mobs.

The Journey Ahead

Reflecting on the day’s adventure, it’s clear Minecraft VR offers an entirely new perspective and depth to a game many of us have loved over the years. Mixing discovery, real-life movements, and virtual creativity brings about a newfound curiosity and enthusiasm.

Looking Forward to More

In the upcoming episodes, I plan to venture into mining, seeking better tools and aiming to expand my interactions with the world around me. Bernard and Daryl will undoubtedly play a role in this journey, as new stories and challenges unfold right before your eyes.

Thanks for joining me on this thrilling jump into the world of Minecraft VR. If you enjoyed this ride, don’t forget to hit like, and I look forward to sharing more adventures soon!

Video Transcript

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap, and welcome back to another video! Today, I’m in Minecraft VR, starting a brand new series where I will be playing Minecraft Survival inside VR. I’m really excited to try this! I’ve only experienced it once, but I’m truly ready to dive in properly. So, without further ado, oh my gosh, that cow is absolutely massive! Look at that cow! Now, I know what you’re thinking—you’re probably thinking it’s a normal size, but this cow is almost as tall as me; it’s massive! Hello there! Oh my gosh, this is a very interesting start. We spawned right next to a village or some sort of structure. What I’m going to do is toggle it back to my POV, but it looks like I’ve actually installed a mod that allows all of these custom structures to generate. So, let’s actually see what this is. Holy moly! Oh my gosh, how do you open the door? Open the door! Let me in! Oh my gosh, close! Close! Oh my gosh, I don’t like that. I don’t like that he’s just standing at the door. Oh my God, hello there! Oh my gosh, this villager is massive! Holy crap, personal space please! Oh my gosh, his nose is like the size of my hand. Can I just? Well, can I compare my hand to your nose? Oh my gosh, your nose is absolutely massive! Okay, well, thank you for letting me into your house. You’re giving me the cider—wow! Okay, let’s get some wood, I guess. I’m going to destroy your house; I apologize for that. I don’t want to go outside now, so let’s move this here. Thank you! Where have you gone? Thank you for letting me into your house. I’m going to destroy it because I need wood, and I’m not going outside without any tools; I think that Pillager could completely destroy me. So, let’s get some wood. This looks like some wood—how do I get you to give me the wood? Do I actually have to punch it? Oh my gosh, see, I’m going to get so fit! Oh my gosh, let’s destroy that! Wow, okay, sorry Daryl, I’m fully destroying your house! I’ll show you my POV—like this is seriously, you just have to keep on punching and punching and punching. And you can use both hands as well. Did I just destroy the bell? I did! Is this your bell? Let’s put the bell there, like that. How do I put the—oh God, okay, bell’s placed. To speed up this process, am I able to craft a crafting table? Okay, we got one over there. Can I just click on it? Oh, I see! Daryl, get out of the way! Seriously, why are you looking at me like that? Get off! I need to use that crafting table, and I don’t want to hit you. Wow, you’re giving me some attitude! Jeez, Daryl is seriously being rude. Come on, get off! Thank you! Okay, you stay over there. I just need to craft a few things. Let’s just open this up. Okay, so we want to craft some of—Daryl! Seriously, can you leave me alone? He pushed me! We’re going to get an axe, I think, if we craft some sticks like this. Oh, it shows you! That’s so cool! Daryl, seriously, get away! Okay, we got an axe—excuse me. Oh, it doesn’t give it back to me! Okay, that’s kind of annoying, but that’s okay. We’re just going to take these back. Can I get rid of that Pillager, please? Okay, we’re going to open this up; this is going to be quite scary. Okay, he ain’t here; he ain’t here, so we’re okay. There’s some smoke; we’re okay. I’m going to chop some—oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, get out of here! Get out! Oh my gosh, leave! Leave! Oh my—oh God, are you okay there? Okay, I’m glad I’m on easy mode. I don’t think I’d be able to do this in normal mode. Okay, this isn’t the best spot, I don’t think, because we’re right next to a Pillager post, which actually sucks. I need to do less talking; I actually need to chop this down. You can see here, we can just chop this down. Okay, this is kind of satisfying, you know, just chopping—chop that wood down! Better chop that wood! It really makes you work out; this is actually nuts! Okay, getting all that wood. I don’t want to destroy those trees because I don’t want to climb up to get them; they’re a bit too tall. Those ones, and also looks like this village has some food in it, or this little spot, so maybe I’ll harvest some of that. Okay, that’s good; so the blocks appear on the floor; they don’t float. Okay, wood! Where’s the camera? We got wood! We’ve got wood, so now that means we got wood. I guess the next important thing is probably getting some food. So I see some hay over here. I’m going to 100% go and harvest that. I just saw the fire go off! We’ll have to save those villagers! So I’m going to just get some of this hay. How do I jump? Oh my gosh, I actually have to jump. That’s nuts! I actually have to jump! Are you serious? Okay, this is an actual workout! Holy moly! Well, it’s almost nighttime; I want to get in because I’m not ready. There’s a chest as well! Hang on, how do I open this chest? Can I just—okay, it’s okay, I’m going to just break it! I want a chest! Awesome, so we got a chest. Oh, there’s another Pillager! Okay, hang on, who left the door open? Daryl, are you serious? Jump up! Jump up! We have to make a rule in this house: we have to close the door! Okay, don’t want to die! Okay, that’s the rule! So we got some hay. Awesome! Let’s just go to the crafting table over here; we’re going to craft some stuff. Let’s put the hay bales down. I just noticed; I don’t know what mod I put on at all. I honestly just downloaded these all kind of blindly. Oh, Seasons! We’ve got Summer and Autumn, so does that mean I can only grow certain crops or something? Oh, okay, the crafting book! Yep, this makes life so much easier! Can I just do this? Awesome! And just craft the bread—31 loaves of bread! That’s pretty decent! I’m happy with that. 31 loaves! Let’s just grab some more. This house is actually really good! Thank you, Daryl, for letting me wreck your whole village and your house. What I’m going to do, let’s just clear out this space. I want to be able to walk around. By the way, the scale of everything’s massive! Like, this staircase is like half the size of me, which is absolutely nuts! I guess it makes sense because I’m pretty sure these are all supposed to be like a meter long or something each. Block’s like a meter! Sorry, Daryl, I’m just wrecking your entire house. I need to do this. So we need to set up some base camp. I also should probably set my respawn point at a bed somewhere, so let’s just do that. We got that. I need a bed. Let’s see, how do I—how do I open? I’m still getting used to opening stuff! Okay, open! Okay, looks like this is Daryl’s room. I’ll leave you to it, that’s fine. Sorry, did not mean to walk in on you. Okay, what’s up here? Here, what’s up here? Oh, looks like we can’t open these. Oh, spooky! Okay, very, very spooky indeed. Oh, who’s this? You’ve got a monocle on your face—well, hello there! I’m sorry to disturb you. I’m going to have to come up with a name for you. Okay, I apologize for interrupting you. Oh, sorry! I didn’t mean to wake you up! Nice to meet you, I guess! Okay, back to sleep. I don’t care, good to sleep! I’m going to have to find a different space. Did I get carrots from that? I think I did. Okay, I’m going to have to find a different place. I think I may have freed him from upstairs, ’cause I don’t know how he’s supposed to get out with all of these closed doors. In fact, you know what, Bernard? Okay, I’m going to call him Bernard. Okay, Bernard upstairs, you need to stay there. Okay, I’ve locked you in. I just heard an Enderman, and I don’t want to go anywhere near that. Let’s see, okay, nice room. A bit small, again, a bit too small. I saw all the endermen outside. A bit too small! What’s this room here? Oh my gosh, we got glowberries! Okay, well I 100% have to get these! Like, seriously, that’s awesome. Let’s just put that there. Wait, they light up the room! Hang on! Oh my gosh, we’ve got our own light source! Hang on, so if I put that in like, let’s say my offhand—like, whoa! Okay, so I’ve got a light source now! That’s so cool! Oh my gosh, okay, very nice! Thank you, chest! Let’s break that chest, actually; I’m going to break that chest. And also, let’s just—uh, where did I put my
